Learning About Themselves (Summer 2007)
"OHS Students Leave the Classroom for the Community this Summer to Investigate the Issues that Face them."
Fourteen Ossining High School students will spend three weeks this summer conducting research about issues that face them and their fellow students in the Ossining community. With help from researchers at New York University, they are among the first young people in the area to investigate issues within their own school and community using "participatory research," in which all concerned parties actively examine current situations together in order to change or improve them.
